I've never been a big fan of Chinese desserts, actually, I take that back- I've never been a big fan of desserts, period. It's only very recently I started enjoying sweets a little more than before. I've always been a savory over sweet type of person and never really craved desserts after a meal.
Anyways, so it's no big news to me that let alone Chinese dessert never really caught my attention. My sister initially found this place because they sell curry fish balls and that's what we were there for. However, I found this wonderful dessert at Tracy Dessert and I've been addicted to it ever since! The photos were taken probably 3rd or 4th time I went back.
Ordered: Sweet Walnut Thick Soup #10
* Bowl of sweet walnut soup for $4.15 3/5
* This is served warm
* It's not too sweet like many American desserts
* This is more like a soothing drink
* Maybe something you have when you are sick
Ordered: Sweet Black Sesame Thick Soup #11 4/5
* Same as the one above but made with black sesame for $4.15
* There is a Korean version of this but only thicker in consistency
* I enjoyed this one more
Ordered: Matcha milk flavored Snowflake ice (HK style) 3/5
* Snowflake ice with strawberry, mango and red bean for $7.85
* My parents ordered this and enjoyed it quite a bit
* I didn't find it to be sweet enough (for a dessert)
* I usually prefer Korean style with more ice cream
Ordered: Mango & Pomels with Tapioca Cream & Ice Cream 5/5
* Bowl of this for $6.25
* This was the dessert I fell in love with at Tracy Dessert
* It's so fresh with fresh mango and pomels on top
* This is very refreshing and light as a dessert
Summary: If you are new to Chinese dessert, drop by and see what it's all about. There are many items on their menu I am unfamiliar with and am scared to order....but if you are adventurous, try them and let me know how they are! If you want to play it safe, get the Mango & Pomels with Tapioca Cream + Ice cream :D
